The Psi Chapter started out with 2 devoted individuals whom had a vision to start a Latino fraternity at the University of South Florida. Their vision flourished and soon they would have the backing of 20 other men that went on to become the founding line, La Fuerza Poderosa. Their mission would be to increase awareness of the newly formed "latino fraternity" and to prove to the Greek Council that they were worthy of becoming a member chapter that would contribute to Greek life at USF.
Soon there after Sigma Lambda Beta would become a member of the Interfraternal Council at USF. We are also part of the Unified Greek Council. Since our induction to the council, the Psi Chapter has proven to the other Greek organizations that a small fraternity can be just as effective as a conventionally large fraternity.
In the short time that we have been on campus we have crossed 140 brothers. Each brother being an integral part to the total unit we call the PSI Foundation. With our dedication to Scholarship, Leadership, and Community Service we have become a powerhouse at USF that refuses to weaken.
The PSI Foundation has also helped our national expansion to other campuses. These campuses include: The Florida State University, The University of Alabama, The University of Miami and the University of Florida.
